This Build can solo quite a bit, including Underworld, which it was originally created for:

Wilderness Survival: 12+3+1
Expertise: 12+3
Beast Mastery: 3

[skill]Arcane Echo[/skill][skill]Echo[/skill][skill]Dust Trap[/skill][skill]Barbed Trap[/skill][skill]Energizing Wind[/skill][skill]Quickening Zephyr[/skill] and [skill]Dryder's Defenses[/skill] or [skill]Whirling Defense[/skill] plus one more skill of your choice. A lot of people tend to go with Serpent's Quickness for the open slot, but it isn't necessary.

When you're setting the traps, put up the 2 spirits first: EW, then QZ. Then go AE, E, DT, BT, E (copied), DT (copied), DT (double-copied), BT, DT, DT (copied), DT (double-copied), BT.

Then, if you have to pull a long ways away, go E, DT, DT (copied), BT, EW.

If the enemy is stationary and doesn't move around and you can get right up close, instead wait for BT to recharge again and go BT, EW, AE, E, DT, E (copied), DT (copied), DT (double-copied), BT for a couple extra traps.

If you don't kill all the enemies, put up your evasion stance, lay a barbed trap, and run away so that you can try again.

Against Ranged Enemies or Enemies with spells, lay all your traps, then move back about an aggro bubble worth of space from your traps to put up the EW spirit. When you pull the enemies, back up to the spirit so that the enemy is right in the traps when they start attacking the spirit.

I used this build to get myself a spider pet and I'm working on a stack of ectos right now using this. Enjoy.

I'm curios as to what build you've been using to cap the spider. I saw this on PvX wiki the other day, and I plan on trying it out today as I just got all the necessary skills yesterday.

I'm just wonddring what to replace for Charm animal..

if you're good at getting people behind walls etc, you can drop barbed trap, otherwise drop your evasive stance and lay a dust trap really early on the pull so they're blinded.

sometimes people dual man trap farm

one goes [skill]echo[/skill] and the usual trap skills [skill]barbed trap[/skill] [skill]dust trap[/skill] [skill]flame trap[/skill]

the other goes [skill]arcane mimicry[/skill] to copy echo from the first ranger and to free up the elite spot for [skill]spike trap[/skill] or [skill]smoke trap[/skill]

also with two man you can have 1 ranger with [skill]energizing wind[/skill] and 1 with [skill]quickening zephyr[/skill]

then each ranger will have more room for additional traps or [skill]serpent's quickness[/skill]

Yup, the good ol' Echo trapper still works for trolls (I know that for sure).

the exact build I use to solo the trolls in Talus Chute is similiar to the one above but still there are a few changes. The exact build i use for trolls is:

R/Me

[skill]Energizing Wind[/skill][skill]Quickening zephyr[/skill][skill]Serpent's Quickness[/skill][skill]Arcane Echo[/skill][skill]Echo[/skill][skill]Dust trap[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Natural Stride[/skill]

Atts: WS 16, Ex 13, BM remaining points.

Use a + 15 - 20 staff and armor with radiant insignias and Runes of Attunement in the spare spots. Sup runes = WS and Ex

How it works:

Exit from Droknar's Forge. It is likely that Avicara will be blocking your way to the troll caves which is why Natural Stride is in there to run past them (can be replaced by Storm Chaser). Just before the cave mouth in front of the wall do this sequence of skills (numbered): 1 2 3 4 5 6 4 5 4 6 5 4. Recharge Serpent's Quickness whenever you can. 6 Dust Traps are all you need. Once set. Natural Stride to the trolls and once aggroed use Whirling Defense. Let them all gather around while you block their attacks due to Whirling Defense. Once gathered lure them to your traps. You should see tonnes of 26s appear if you have WS 16. And there you have it.

ummm...ive been playing my ranger for over a year now and I'm a little confused by your question. with a thought out build, there are many things that rangers can solo...

some random things that I have come up with for ranger soloing:
R/Me UW smite run (common echo trapper)
R/Me UW smite run (my own build and takes about 25min per run)
R/E uw smite run (my own build but takes longer than the R/Me)
R/Me FoW forest farm (normal R/Me build floating around)
R/A FoW forest farm (my own build)
R/Rt FoW forest farm (my own build)
R/Me Icy Dragon Sword farm (my own build)

these are the main ones that I can think of off the top of my head. However, builds can be made for lots of other monsters ESPECIALLY if they are all the same type of monsters (i.e. trolls and hydras).

So, if your starting a list of things that rangers can solo, you can start by moving the trolls and hydras to the list of CAN solo.

(please dont ask me what my builds are, I normally only save the ones that are worth it....meaning, I don't save the build if it takes less time than another build I have)
